YWPNaNoWriMo

Now that's a mouth full, Young Writers Program National Novel Writing Month.

Check it out:

Yay! I did it!

Although, since this was my first NaNoWriMo and I started real late in the month, my word count goal was 9,000. My last count before the end of NaNoWriMo was 10,246. And although my novel isn't finished, I technically haven't been writing for a whole month, yet.

I'm a notebook writer so my novel is in two composition books and while I was busy writing, my sister typed it up (which is why it's in two books, she was typing up the contents of one while I was writing in the second).

Thank you, sis! I love ya and appreciate ya, very much!

Unfortunately NaNoWriMo cut into my knit and crochet time, so I haven't finished any Christmas gifts.... My wrist aches...... All that handwriting and now all the knitting and crocheting....................

I'm miserably happy!

Whatever......... Lately I've just been thinking really hard about my trilogy. Yes, I'm writing a trilogy which I hope to finish soonish. I'd love for them to be published....... Anyway that's all I'm gonna tell you right now, so ;P

Votes are needed!

Go here and vote for #3 Laze Eye -brother and sister. Thank you! You can watch all the videos if you want.... But you really should only vote for #3 ;0)

Also, I've been thinking about starting a Mystery Knit/Crochet Along! I love mysteries. But I should (and shall) finish several projects before I start this endeavour. I shouldn't read handmade RAK wish lists.... I always get about ten more projects on the needles and hooks... I sure wish I could knit and crochet faster sometimes. Ah, well!

Oblivious (stupid) moment

I was looking at the movies you could watch on YouTube and saw, The Happy Hooker, I thought "Oh, cool! I didn't know there was a movie!" I read the synopsis and it didn't mention Debbie Stoller, or crochet at all. I was shocked, I immediately thought, "What the heck is this? If it's not crochet...." It took me about a minute to figure it out. "Oh.... That kind of hooker."

Twilght

So the movie finally came in. Me and my family watched it yesterday. And what a pleasant surprise, we loved it! I can't for the life of me tell you why I liked it. It moved slow at times, the movie was filled with half-conversations and it was weird. But we plan to watch it again! I still don't like the male lead. I know it's probably not his fault, but I blame him for ruining the character, Cedric Diggery in the Harry Potter movie. I mean in the book when Cedric died I kinda felt like crying, in the movie I felt like laughing. "He was a fierce friend!" What does that even mean? He punches you as he says, I love ya man! Not to mention there was this weird scene where he had his head in some guys lap and the guy was playing with Cedric's hair... Then he tells Harry to take a bath! Can you say 'gay perv?' But anyway besides that, I also don't find the actor attractive. I thought vampires were supposed to be sexy and gorgeous.

Phat Fiber giveaways!

Phat Fiber is having a week of spinning themed giveaways!
Including, Extreme Spinning and North Star Alpacas these two ladies have some very beautiful things! So check 'em out.

Drat!

I forgot to post yesterday. Shoot.

If you have not seen DWTS' Tuesday show, you might not want to read this next part!

I was pretty sad to see David Alan Grier and Kym leave DWTS. I thought they were better than Lawrence and Edyta.

Is it just me or does Edyta only know one style of dance? And it isn't even ballroom, it's pole dancing. She uses the male star as the pole, he just stands there as she dances and poses around them. At least she has toned down the weird leg-in-the-air-poses thingy. I also believe that she tries to draw attention away from her partner by wearing as little as possible.

Tom Bergeron was funny as always, I give him a 10. He is the best, my favourite part of the show.

DWTS rant-y 2

Okay, I don't usually like mimes, but I did like Steve-Os dance. I thought it told a lovely story and it was actually really pretty with all the music and everything. He looked slightly uncomfortable through parts of it, but as the fourth (self appointed) judge, I give him an 8.
As for Gilles... So, the dance was awesome, but all of their dances have the same story, a three letter word that rhymes with vex. Which is making Cheryl Burke just look like a slut, I'm beginning to think this is because she actually is a slut. So I give them an 8 and this advice: Not all the dances have the same story to them. And I don't think you have to make them all have sex as the storyline. Get with the personality of the dance!

BTW a rant-y is a slight rant, a baby rant if you will.

Okay

Sooo, I've decided to give, Twilight, a try. Although I'm 13 in line for the book and 25th for the movie. I'll probably forget about it by then.... Ah, well.

My hair is losing it's color! My beautiful, thick, dark brown hair, is turning blonde. So weird. Maybe my hair is going prematurlly white? My little brother had the nerve to say, "It's because of all the knitting you do" so stereotypical! lol Ah, well, I don't think I'd really mind having blonde or white hair. White would certainly go with my creepy attire, well black would go better.

Better

I'm feeling way better today. I've decided to make the Emma Peel Dress from Mason-Dixon Knitting. It'll be in Aqua and Peach Blossom, it's gonna be adorable! I'll cast-on in a few minutes, I think.

Today I edited a picture in Paint! (I haven't done that in ages! I love to do it though!) I put my mom in the drivers seat of a Rolls-Royce Phantom. Sooo hot. And it looks great, you might not even think it was 'forged' if I hadn't told you. So that was fun.

I've been designing more knitting patterns in my head.... If I could only get them down in yarn....

I feel rotten...

Rotten, I say!

But besides that... I think I want to knit a dress. I don't care who (if anyone) wears it, nor do I care who it's for. I just want to make it. Much like I want to make clothes for little girls and dolls. Drat it, that I don't have a little sister. Anyway, I have that familiar itch to cast-on something new and fun!

I may be sick....

Scratch that, I am sick. Not feelin' well at all. Which stinks, 'cause I wanted to start a new project. Of course I don't have the yarn for it anyway... Drat! I hate bein' sick...... And the worst part is, I think my Guinea Pig got me sick with his cold/flu/whatever. I think I'm going to go watch a movie, or go back to bed.

Kool Aid dye!

Me and my sister might be trying to dye yarn for the first time! Using Kool Aid and Red Hearts Heart and Sole (Ravelry link). It should be fun and educational.

Yesterday we all went to a comic book/drawing class at our local library (coolest places ever), the teachers were famous, professional comic book artists! The creators of Galaxy Man. They made sketches of me and my sister! (if scanning them comes out, I'll post pics) We learned bunches and bunches which will (hopefully) improve our drawing skills. And we got them all to our selves. Which is kinda sad... 'Cuz if we hadn't shown up, they would have come all that way for nothing. (they live miles away) We've been to that same class three times now, but last night we got a whole new experience! One-on-one advice for each of us. They looked at our art, told us how we can improve it and even gave us personal challenges/assignments. It was way cool. And a lot of fun. And to me it looked like they were having a lot of fun to, they got to do something new, instead of doing their semi-scripted routine teaching.

Posting about another Giveaway

Phat Fiber is having another giveaway! (She has such awesome givaways!) So go check it out.

Why, yes, I do want a second entry. ;P

Hmm....

I just remembered a funny story. This happened to us a couple o' weeks ago.

We (my mother driving, I was sittin' shotgun and my three siblings were in the back) were driving out of the parking lot of the grocery store when this guy flagged us over. Mom pulled over and rolled down my window. The guys car hood was open and it looked like he had pulled out the car battery. He said, "I'm waiting for the wrecker. There's a woman with a baby at the Marta stop, up on 400." He looked like he would go on forever so mom asked, "What do you need?" "Bus tokens, or money to buy bus tokens. I will pay you back!" he went to his car and came back with this stack of papers, which looked like mail. (I think at this point he also said where he works) Mom asked, "How much are they?" "I'm not sure, they used to be like a dollar, a dollar fifty. It's been a while since I've been on the bus." He was beginning to kind of ramble again, my sister found a five in her purse, she handed it to mom. Mom handed it to me and I handed it to the guy. And he asked, "How am I going to pay you back?" Mom asked, "What's your name?" "Darnell." "God bless, Darnell!" And we drove off. We could still kind of see him while we were at the red light, and he was sittin' on his front bumper with his mouth open, dumbfounded. We went on with our shopping and on our way home we drove past the store again. He wasn't there, so we kind of assume he was tellin' the truth. Anyway we decided we wouldn't take as though we had been scammed we took as, "If he was scamming us, he did a hell of a job!" So we decided either way we were just tippin' the street performer.

This might not be as funny reading it as it was being there. And I can't remember all the details. Anyway thought I'd share.

DWTS is miffing me off!

Okay, is it just me or is Dancing with the Stars' judges getting nasty? I mean, poor Steve Wozniak. The judges were such total stitches! "The worst Samba I've ever seen!" "The novelty wears off" "The dances are killing you" And yet we had to sit through sooooo much (too much) Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas? (shudder) What the turkey? Honestly I don't think the judges should judge these people as if they are professionals. Or I think they need a fourth judge, you know 'the peoples choice' someone who has never had any ballroom dancing experience. They just judge on how awesome or beautiful it looked. That way they would only take off points if the mistake was obvious, but they look for the fun factor. (Of course I also think this fourth judge should be me) Or at least kick Bruno off!

Man... Every time I see, hear, type, read and say, Kayla I get knots in my stomach... What does that mean? I'm all confuzzled.

I just realized I am whining.... Nuts!

I've not had my coffee...

Okay, question: Have you ever tried designing something that you've never made before? That's what I'm doing. I've never knit a shawl before and yet here I am designing one. What's a girl to do? I guess I should find a shawl pattern and start making it. I would also have to go out and buy some new yarn! (any excuse will do!) So I know what yarn and colorway I want to use. Sensations Rainbow Boucle in Green(Ravelry link). I think it'll make an excellent shawl.

You ever have a dream, with someone in it that you've never seen before and then see them in real life? That happened to me yesterday. I dreamed that my family adopted a girl, she was about my age (or something like that), she had reddish/auburn hair that came to a soft curl and she was shy at first but when she warmed up to us she was talkative. We called her Kay. Well I don't know why but I looked up adoption photo listings and I found her. Her name is Kayla, she was born the same month and year as me she looks just like Kay! So we were kind of getting excited, "Are we meant to adopt her?" then we saw that she is a member of the LDS Church. And that it means a lot to her... Well she probably wouldn't want to live with us. We're Christians through and through, so even though we don't really care (we might be able to convert her) she might. And so even though I've never met her I kinda feel like I lost someone important to me... Or someone who could have been important.

It is seriously depressing how many children are up for adoption. The numbers are staggering! (550,000)
So if you can or are able or maybe you've thought about it, adopt.

Okay.... So back to my wonderful world of yarn! BYBY!

I wants the spindle! And the bag!

So Phat Fiber is having a giveaway! I wants it.... So I'm blogging about it to get a second entry ;P

And!

There is also this giveaway that Vegan Craftastic is having. You should check out her shop!

Since tomorrow never comes, I'm technically not late in posting this.

I learned to crochet not to long ago and of late it's been eating up my knitting time. All though I do crochet more, I love knitting the most. It's not as hard on my wrist as crochet. Knitting feels so wonderful on my hands, it gives me that feeling of going home. That kind of warm, fuzzy, happy feeling you get inside, yeah that's knitting for me. So I should really get back to my U.F.Os (I have soooo many)... *Pout* But I LOVE starting new projects. Any excuse to start a new project! I should also get back to my drawing... I wish I weren't such a lazy procrastinator........ Ah, well!

In case there are any Ravelers reading this: http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/st-patricks-day-celebrations/571563/26-50#34 Go and 'love' your fave! Personally I love the Barbie hoodie.

So... Ta, ta, for now!
