Kool Aid dye!

Me and my sister might be trying to dye yarn for the first time! Using Kool Aid and Red Hearts Heart and Sole (Ravelry link). It should be fun and educational.

Yesterday we all went to a comic book/drawing class at our local library (coolest places ever), the teachers were famous, professional comic book artists! The creators of Galaxy Man. They made sketches of me and my sister! (if scanning them comes out, I'll post pics) We learned bunches and bunches which will (hopefully) improve our drawing skills. And we got them all to our selves. Which is kinda sad... 'Cuz if we hadn't shown up, they would have come all that way for nothing. (they live miles away) We've been to that same class three times now, but last night we got a whole new experience! One-on-one advice for each of us. They looked at our art, told us how we can improve it and even gave us personal challenges/assignments. It was way cool. And a lot of fun. And to me it looked like they were having a lot of fun to, they got to do something new, instead of doing their semi-scripted routine teaching.

Posting about another Giveaway

Phat Fiber is having another giveaway! (She has such awesome givaways!) So go check it out.

Why, yes, I do want a second entry. ;P

Hmm....

I just remembered a funny story. This happened to us a couple o' weeks ago.

We (my mother driving, I was sittin' shotgun and my three siblings were in the back) were driving out of the parking lot of the grocery store when this guy flagged us over. Mom pulled over and rolled down my window. The guys car hood was open and it looked like he had pulled out the car battery. He said, "I'm waiting for the wrecker. There's a woman with a baby at the Marta stop, up on 400." He looked like he would go on forever so mom asked, "What do you need?" "Bus tokens, or money to buy bus tokens. I will pay you back!" he went to his car and came back with this stack of papers, which looked like mail. (I think at this point he also said where he works) Mom asked, "How much are they?" "I'm not sure, they used to be like a dollar, a dollar fifty. It's been a while since I've been on the bus." He was beginning to kind of ramble again, my sister found a five in her purse, she handed it to mom. Mom handed it to me and I handed it to the guy. And he asked, "How am I going to pay you back?" Mom asked, "What's your name?" "Darnell." "God bless, Darnell!" And we drove off. We could still kind of see him while we were at the red light, and he was sittin' on his front bumper with his mouth open, dumbfounded. We went on with our shopping and on our way home we drove past the store again. He wasn't there, so we kind of assume he was tellin' the truth. Anyway we decided we wouldn't take as though we had been scammed we took as, "If he was scamming us, he did a hell of a job!" So we decided either way we were just tippin' the street performer.

This might not be as funny reading it as it was being there. And I can't remember all the details. Anyway thought I'd share.

DWTS is miffing me off!

Okay, is it just me or is Dancing with the Stars' judges getting nasty? I mean, poor Steve Wozniak. The judges were such total stitches! "The worst Samba I've ever seen!" "The novelty wears off" "The dances are killing you" And yet we had to sit through sooooo much (too much) Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas? (shudder) What the turkey? Honestly I don't think the judges should judge these people as if they are professionals. Or I think they need a fourth judge, you know 'the peoples choice' someone who has never had any ballroom dancing experience. They just judge on how awesome or beautiful it looked. That way they would only take off points if the mistake was obvious, but they look for the fun factor. (Of course I also think this fourth judge should be me) Or at least kick Bruno off!

Man... Every time I see, hear, type, read and say, Kayla I get knots in my stomach... What does that mean? I'm all confuzzled.

I just realized I am whining.... Nuts!

I've not had my coffee...

Okay, question: Have you ever tried designing something that you've never made before? That's what I'm doing. I've never knit a shawl before and yet here I am designing one. What's a girl to do? I guess I should find a shawl pattern and start making it. I would also have to go out and buy some new yarn! (any excuse will do!) So I know what yarn and colorway I want to use. Sensations Rainbow Boucle in Green(Ravelry link). I think it'll make an excellent shawl.

You ever have a dream, with someone in it that you've never seen before and then see them in real life? That happened to me yesterday. I dreamed that my family adopted a girl, she was about my age (or something like that), she had reddish/auburn hair that came to a soft curl and she was shy at first but when she warmed up to us she was talkative. We called her Kay. Well I don't know why but I looked up adoption photo listings and I found her. Her name is Kayla, she was born the same month and year as me she looks just like Kay! So we were kind of getting excited, "Are we meant to adopt her?" then we saw that she is a member of the LDS Church. And that it means a lot to her... Well she probably wouldn't want to live with us. We're Christians through and through, so even though we don't really care (we might be able to convert her) she might. And so even though I've never met her I kinda feel like I lost someone important to me... Or someone who could have been important.

It is seriously depressing how many children are up for adoption. The numbers are staggering! (550,000)
So if you can or are able or maybe you've thought about it, adopt.

Okay.... So back to my wonderful world of yarn! BYBY!

I wants the spindle! And the bag!

So Phat Fiber is having a giveaway! I wants it.... So I'm blogging about it to get a second entry ;P

And!

There is also this giveaway that Vegan Craftastic is having. You should check out her shop!

Since tomorrow never comes, I'm technically not late in posting this.

I learned to crochet not to long ago and of late it's been eating up my knitting time. All though I do crochet more, I love knitting the most. It's not as hard on my wrist as crochet. Knitting feels so wonderful on my hands, it gives me that feeling of going home. That kind of warm, fuzzy, happy feeling you get inside, yeah that's knitting for me. So I should really get back to my U.F.Os (I have soooo many)... *Pout* But I LOVE starting new projects. Any excuse to start a new project! I should also get back to my drawing... I wish I weren't such a lazy procrastinator........ Ah, well!

In case there are any Ravelers reading this: http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/st-patricks-day-celebrations/571563/26-50#34 Go and 'love' your fave! Personally I love the Barbie hoodie.

So... Ta, ta, for now!
