Revised Favorites and Progress!

Okay, so I changed my mind about my favorite AG dolls... So in no particular order my dolls or wish they were my dolls list;

Elizabeth - Whom I have and renamed Angelique
Lanie GOTY 2010 - Who I'm getting for Christmas and will probably rename... Maybe something French. Though at the moment I'm calling her, Laine.
Kit - (and her friend Ruthie, maybe the best friend collection is in my future... Distant future, but still.) I would rename them, Lara and Maggie. Again after Dark Shadows.

Julie! (and Ivy)- I super love the 70's right now... ABBA! (not to be mistaken with the semi-terrible movie/play/musical, Mama Mia!) If I get Julie I might rename her, Agnetha, Anna, Anni-Frid or ABBA... Yeah, I know... I would also want all of her accessories, especially her Floral Jumpsuit.

Lindsey GOTY 2001 - I have no idea why she was so disliked when she came out... If I had been more interested in dolls at that time I might have asked for her. She kind of looks like me, except I have black eyes... They are so not blue.

Nellie - Again, if I had been aware of my love of dolls at that time I would probably have asked for her, before she was retired.

Surely you have noticed my themes, blonds or short hair. So strange... I never particularly thought about my liking blonds, actually I used to think I didn't like blonds at all... Don't kid yourself, KJo. Just look at your AG choices and Barbies for that matter.

Anyway about the afore mentioned progress. I have made four out of five gifts for my family! Just one more to go. I have also made two gifts and bought a gift for a dear friend of mine. And even made a present for her daughter. So I have to get those things in the mail. Hopefully today.
I also hope my package from AG Fun arrives today.

Just another post

So I've decided to try and knit a hat for my little brother for Christmas. I'm also going to try and finish a present for my older brother and I've working on a blanket for my mom. I already made a hat for my dad... I just need to figure something out for my sister.

My four favorite AG dolls;

Nellie

Elizabeth (my Angelique)

Kit

Ruthie

I would really love to have all four of them sometime in the future...

I also really like Rebecca, Julie, Ivy and one of the My American Girl dolls. But I'm thinking eight dolls+ is kind of pushing it ;)

I haven't posted in a long time

And for no real reason either.

Let's see an update...

I got my first AG doll for my birthday this year! I got Elizabeth, but I renamed her Angelique after the character on Dark Shadows. I already had a Springfield 18" doll, I believe I've mentioned her before, Josette also named after a character on Dark Shadows. And then a bit more recently I bought a Journey Girls doll at Toys 'R' Us. I had a Visa giftcard and my mom had a Toys 'R' Us giftcard, so I practically got her for free. And they were having a sale where if you bought the doll you got a free outfit. So that was pretty awesome! I got Taryn, her new name is Evangeline. Because it's a French name and that seems to be a pattern with me.

I've decided not to over work myself by going crazy on Christmas gifts this year. I do hope to finish a couple, but so far I haven't done anything to that means.

Lets see... I won NaNoWriMo Youth Writers Program again this year! I really like my writing style. It's seems very inspired by the, Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, Tales of the Unexpected, X-Files and more recently added to my repertoire of the abnormal, Night Gallery.

So anyway I have other things to do I suppose....

Merry Christmas!

After having done a blog post about finishing projects (Thanks Zaneta, it's nice to know I'm not alone) I suddenly felt totally apathetic. I didn't want to do anything, not even play with my yarn! I never don't want to play with yarn! I'm hoping I feel better today....
I really want an American Girl Doll! And a Karito Kids Doll! *pout*
Not that I need more dolls....

So...

I've decided it's time to kick it into gear and finish me old projects, so that I hopefully still make my New Year's Resolution. I'm going to try and not start anymore projects, well not big projects anyway.
I'm kind of thinking about asking for an American Girl doll for my birthday. Yep, my seventeenth birthday.....

Well, here's a giveaway for crayons from Little Grippers

I love crayons! And Doctor Who 10. Way cool.

I recieved the Twig Ring yesterday! I had no idea it was coming from the UK. I love it a lot and it fits perfectly. I'm going to sew myself a dress to go with my new ring, yeah well that's how I do it. Jewelry first, clothes second. This is the dress I'm thinking on making. Mine will be pink and silver.

Bummers and a Giveaway

Okay, bad news first:
I decided I wanted to try dyeing a dolls hair. I wanted an 18" doll with glow in the dark pink hair, so I go out to buy a Springfield doll. My local Michaels doesn't have a blond one... So I go to a different Michaels and discover that Springfield has decided to update their dolls, they have new eyes, they come in a box, they come with a dress and for some reason they have less hair! I bought one but when I got her home and out of the box, she was going bald! She actually had three spots where hair hadn’t been rooted and the places with hair didn’t have much. So I returned her to yet another Michaels and looked at their other dolls, they had blond ones and red heads, all of the dolls seemed to have this same radiation poisoning or something. It’s unbelievable! I mean I knew Springfield was a cheap doll, but I didn’t know they were that cheap!
I have a Springfield doll, I got her about a year or so ago, she has a full head of hair, very thick in comparison with the blond one I had for a short while. So I think the older Springfield dolls are of better quality than the new ones, maybe they’re spending too much money on the dresses and boxes and not enough on the doll. I would rather have a naked doll in a bag, with a full head of hair, than a balding doll in a box, that comes with a crappy dress.
So anyway, I wanted her for her hair in the first place! A bald doll wouldn't do me any good.... So I'm disappointed, mad and a little bit sad.....

But I have this giveaway to cheer me up;
Fishing and Wishing has a gift card to Toastory, they have some awesome stuff so check it out!

Some plans should be ruined!

Namely the plan to start five new projects only. I have, in the last couple of weeks, started about eight new projects. I've finished two so far. But I'm certainly not upset about it!

I'm designing a few patterns for doll clothes, Barbie and 18" dolls.

Okay, I have to go back to my yarn now.

Things I've done lately

I decided that before I started a new project, I'd have to finish five old ones. And somehow I was able to muscle my way through it.
I finished a knitted steering wheel cover, a crocheted sand turtle, my first pair of crocheted socks, a pair of knit socks for Josette (my 18" doll) and a pair of crocheted bell-bottomed jeans for Josette.

A few days later I started my first new project in ages, a pair of crocheted fingerless mitts for my sister. I'm using yarn that my sister and I dyed ourselves, it's mostly shades of pink with a few spots of dark purple.

I'm sort of planning to start and finish five new projects and then finish five old projects and just kind of go like that. But we'll see how that turns out.

I was a very good girl yesterday, went out shopping at two different Hobby Lobbies and I only bought four skeins of yarn, they were all on clearance.

Ponderings

Alright! I actually finished a project a couple of days ago! It was my first sweater to boot! Although I also started a new project yesterday, slippers, but I think I'll be able to finish them today or tomorrow.

I finally figured out what my hobby is: Collecting Hobbies
I've decided to learn Chinese Knotting and Needle Felting. I also want to learn Wood Carving.

I really wish I was better at finishing projects... I've started several projects using patterns by Roxycraft and Beth Doherty. (Some of my favorite crochet designers) I was just catching up on Mz. Dohertys blog today so I saw all these pics of her amigurumis, makes me want them..... I should really finish the three projects that I started using her patterns, let's see I have two of these on the hooks and one these. (Ravelry links) And of all her awesome patterns, the one I have actually finished is this. Don't get me wrong, I love the sweet little dead fishy, but I want a really beautiful amigurumi doll......... So I guess I should be crocheting instead of whining....

I think I'll go finish the slippers, or eat.

New Year Resolution (also late)

My New Years resolution is to finish all my old projects and try not to start a new project until I finish the old ones. So far I've started four new projects, finished one them and I've done a little work on some of the old ones..... Not looking good for the resolution. But I have 'til the end of this year so I still have a chance.... Kinda......

This is late....

But I don't care. I finished all of my Christmas knitting/crocheting for 2009! On time! I made a gift for all three of my siblings, both my parents and a gift for my grandparents. I'm very proud of myself. I made legwarmers for my sister (my own design), socks for my dad, a roll pillow for my mom (my own design), a dice bag for my little brother, a dragon for my older brother and a longhorn for my grandparents. And a hat, that my whole can share.
